It’s a song, by J. Lo. Which I am a little bit ashamed to admit is on my top 25 most played on itunes. (BTW isn’t that the most horrible part of itunes? I have the most epically bad taste in music when it comes to what I will listen to on repeat over and over and over again), but back to the point. This song. This song is my life. FACT.

Seriously, who would have thought J. Lo would be the one to hit the nail on the head? I certainly didn’t. Then again, we both know she didn’t write it, so I’m going to believe it was someone with a little more depth. (But really who are we kidding, I’m relating my life to a J. Lo song and somehow judging her for lack of depth.)

It’s also been out for nearly two years, but it’s on her new album. Re-release? While I ponder the recyclage, have a listen my pookies. Oh yes, I did just call you that. It’s cause I can’t be bothered to say your names. Also, please note the lyrics. They are of course what I relate to, that and the super catchy na nas.

Night Cap

No better way to cap off the night than to find out that there’s a new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer. I can’t even begin to describe my excitement, it’s borderline (read: full on) 12 year old at a Justin Bieber meet and greet. And here I was thinking I’d never have the opportunity to say anything positive when mentioning Justin Bieber. I stand corrected.

Tyra loves herself a onepiece

Ok, so I am unemployed and as such have spent a lot of time watching morning television. The View, Rachel Ray, Live with Regis and Kelly, The Tyra Banks show, you name it, I’ve been watching it (in my defence I haven’t been watching Maury, although a few more weeks of unemployment and paternity tests here I come).

With all this TV watching I’ve noticed something very important, Tyra Banks loves herself a jumpsuit. That or the show has a really low wardrobe budget. She’s worn a jumpsuit (I’m convinced the same one-a heather grey one–see picture #1 below) nearly every day for the past two weeks. She’s also recycling belts, in particular a yellow belt/sash (Don’t think I didn’t notice Tyra. I did).

Don’t get me wrong she rocks the look, and it can’t be denied there are plenty of benefits to a one-piece outfit., comfort (it’s like a onesie for adults), not having to worry about picking separates, that sort of thing. But you know, there are negatives too. For example, what if you need to go to the bathroom during a two minute commercial break? You’d have to take off the belt (Tyra always belts, always) and hang it somewhere (which can be difficult in some bathrooms), and then you practically have to get naked in order to pee. Is two minutes really enough? Does she have enough time to wash her hands? What if she doesn’t make it back on time? Does the choir do a number? (what is with that choir anyways? has there ever been anything more annoying on TV? and how would they even know what to sing if Tyra isn’t there to lead them?)

I could go on, but I should probably stop. So I will.

You know how when you (me) were little you would spend hours on MS Paint painstakingly drawing things, or editing images, (this was before the days of photoshop) wishing that there was some magical program that would just take what you imagine and make it real, well it appears that we are almost at that stage. “A research team from several universities has put together a system whereby you can draw a terrible stick picture sketch, label your blobby objects what they’re supposed to be, and it will essentially photoshop something together for you that meets your criteria.”

Sometimes when I’m really bored I like to rewatch my favourite scenes/episodes from movies/shows.

Here’s a selection for your viewing pleasure. Check it out after the jump.

PS-I am sorry for the quality of some of these. It’s not my fault, blame youtube.

1. Moulin Rouge, Come What May (finale)-It’s THE grand gesture, you know that moment when the person you love finally realizes that they love you and are willing to take a risk to let you know.

2. Mamma Mia, The Winner Takes it All- I love this clip, yeah the movie was cheesier than a block of mozarella, but Meryl Street can belt a song.

3. The Notebook, The Kiss- All around hotness. Oh Ryan Gosling, how I’ve loved you since your Breaker High days.

please note: if you are seeing a pattern here (ie. chick flicks) I have already adressed my love of them. Sue me.

4. Bridget Jones, Just as you are- Umm, who doesn’t want to hear this?

5. Grey’s Anatomy, Pick Me- Story of my life. Make difficult confession (check!), wait endlessly for response you’re never going to get (check!). Meredith waited two full seasons, that’s a lot of waiting.

6. Sex and City, I don’t live here anymore- I love this scene, even though they end up together in the end it’s the first time Carrie actually grows a pair and calls Big on his bullshit. Loves it.

7. Gilmore Girls, Gift Ship- Awkward but hilarious.

8. Grey’s Anatomy, Izzie and Denny-This is the best video I could find.

Two new movies based on books to look forward to. The first is The Time Traveller’s Wife based on the book of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger. The book was absolutely beautiful, one of my all time favourites and the movie doesn’t look like it will be terrible so that’s promising. What isn’t promising is that this film was supposed to have been released last December but got pushed back soo many times (with the excuse that they were waiting for Eric Bana’s hair to grow back in order to finish filming–which begs the questions why didn’t he wait until he finished filming to cut his hair) I’m afraid it might be terrible. And, The Road based on the book of the same name by Cormac McCarthy, also looks quite good. I haven’t yet read the book, but I do own it and plan on reading it before the release of the film this coming fall. Check it out:

Have you ever read anything by Jodi Picoult? no? well get on it. She’s great! (many thanks to my gal Milene for introducing me to this fantastic author).

Need a place to start? I recommend My Sister’s Keeper. It’s heart-wrenching, and will make you cry, kind of like this year’s season finale of Grey’s Anatomy made me cry. You have to read it quick though. Why? because the movie comes out June 26th, and it looks good (at least the two minutes of trailer I watched).

I know what your thinking, because I thought it too when I first visited the IMDB page. I think it went something like this:

(conversation with myself)

“Cameron Diaz are you kidding me?” “Well, she must have been in something decent…think Bruna think.” “Charlies Angel’s? There’s Something about Mary? Charlie’s Angels II: Full Throttle?”

but then a shining moment:

“In Her Shoes! you loved that movie.” “I don’t know about love, but I did like it, and she definitely was not terrible in it”

I actually did like this movie. Probably because Toni Collete is in it, and I think she’s phenomenal and incredibly under-appreciated. Aside from the fact that she plays my favourite character in About a Boy, which is saying something considering Hugh Grant is the lead (I love him like Angelina Jolie loves adopting babies), she’s also the lead in one of my favourite movies ever, Muriel’s Wedding. Never heard of/watched it it? Go out and rent it now (I don’t care if it’s midnight and your in your skivvies eating popsicles and watching reruns of Family Matters).

Here’s the story:

Insecure girl desperately want’s to be part of the cool clique (despite the fact that they are rude to her, and generally treat her like trash). After re-acquainting herself with a former friend during a trip to Hawaii (she can’t afford the ticket so she scams her parents for the money), insecure girl grows a pair, ditches the cool clique and makes a new life for herself. But all is not sunshine and rainbows, the shit hits the fan and insecure girl falls back into some old traps. I won’t tell you the rest, but I will tell you this: it’s all set to Abba music.

I know what your thinking “I don’t want to watch that”. Watch it anyways, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Like that time I recommended Daniel Craig become the new Bond (yeah, that was me), you weren’t dissapointed then were you? I didn’t think so.

Oh, and don’t forget to watch My Sister’s Keeper, because this post was going somewhere before it went everywhere.
